A Legacy of Love and Unity | Honoring Our Veterans and Their Families

This Veterans Day weekend, I hope you took a moment to reflect on the remarkable dedication of those who have served our great nation. We are forever grateful for their selflessness and the sacrifices they continue to make to keep us safe and free.

For me, Veterans Day holds a special place in my heart. My two brothers, an uncle, grandpa, stepfather, and several close friends served in the U.S. Military, and their commitment reminds me of the tremendous dedication required from our military personnel and their families. Every enlisted soldier not only undergoes rigorous training but also learns skills that serve them, their families, and our country. Each service member takes an oath to protect and uphold the values that make this nation strong—a duty that resonates beyond them, extending to their families and the communities they call home.

At its core, the legacy of our veterans is a legacy of love and unity. It’s a reminder that while times may change, our values endure. No election, no policy, can alter our desire to build a better future for the next generation. We want our children to achieve even more than we did, to reach dreams that we could only imagine. And while months and years may pass, our commitment to family, friendship, community, and unity remain.

On Veterans Day, I flew my flag with pride. For those passing by my house, I hoped it would be a reminder of the grace and glory of this nation—a tribute to those who have built it, and a beacon for those who will carry it forward. It’s a small gesture, but it’s one that I believe can make a difference. Our actions, big or small, contribute to the spirit of unity. As individuals, we will always have the power to make a positive impact on someone's day.

This Veterans Day, I hope you've remembered the sacrifices made, and commit to the values that keep us united. One house, one flag, one family can make a positive difference. We all have this individual power, to smile and wave "hello" to our neighbors. And when we do, we uphold the legacy of those who came before us—a legacy built on love, and unity.
